Tattoo

I choose this poem because the imagry of it. Koosers description of the tattoo and how it has changed over the years makes you think about how the man that has the tattoo has changed as well. Theres a connection between the two. The tattoo at first "a dripping dagger held in the fist of a shuddering heart" seems rough and would be thought to be on the body of a biker or someone that wasnt exactly welcoming. "is now just a bruise on a bony old shoulder". It was once on the arm of someone who had much muscle but as time has passed the man has grown old and lost his muscle and as time has gone his tattoo that was once vivid is fading away just like he himself is doing.
